Field Trips at O'Keefe Ranch
"To look backward for a while is to refresh the eye, to restore it, and to render it the more fit for its prime function of looking forward." - Margaret Fairless Barber
O'Keefe Ranch Education Programs are offered in May, June, September. The School Program operates near capacity, and we are currently accepting bookings for the 2020 school year.

The Historic O'Keefe Ranch is a unique site to educate and entertain all learning levels. The program offers immersive learning opportunities for elementary students, and annually attracts schools from throughout the valley. Teachers can find our current program listings here, and choose the lessons that will best suit them. All groups can book 3 guided and 1 self-guided program to fill out their day. Our program is tailored to each grade and has flexibility to include special requests.
Pre-visitation materials are distributed to teachers electronically, prior to their visit. Students are divided into groups so that they can best experience the different learning stations.
Field Trips at O'Keefe Ranch are $8 per student and per parent volunteer (total $8.40 with GST). Teachers, educational assistants, and bus drivers are free.
Tours with groups up to 60 kids generally take about 2 1/2 hours in total, and if they are in 4 groups (between 12 & 15 kids in each group), they do 4 stations (30 min each) and have half an hour for lunch.
(Please note: O'Keefe Ranch no longer distributes paper field trip booklets. Teachers may choose which resources they would like to print beforehand, and bring in anticipation of their Field Trip).
We're gathering together activities you can do at home to learn more about life on the Ranch in the 1800s! We'll keep adding them here.
