The Historic O’Keefe Ranch continues to celebrate our 150th Anniversary all season long with free admission for kids at our Family Fun Days! On August 20th, we are excited to have Kiki the Cowgirl perform a Sing-Along Dance Party for the littles and later show us how to walk on stilts! Shine your boots and join in two-step lessons for kids and adults with Lorna Robb from Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio. Kids will be captivated through unique storytelling of “Stone Soup” by Beverley Peacock. Sherriff Wally, a miniature horse, will be on-site security and he loves to take selfies.  Learn to make butter the old fashioned way and try your hand at the learning the Morse code. Members of the BC Carriage Driving Society are hosting a practice derby in the Greenhow arena; come watch horses and ponies perform with speed and precision. Kids can create pastel landscapes inspired by the exhibition Leading Ladies, in the O’Keefe Kids Korner. Vernon and Armstrong cultural groups will be onsite, each with an activity to explore. As always, our special events also offer guests stagecoach rides, pony rides, tractor rides, and old fashioned games. New this summer, we are providing a curator’s tour of the Ranch by horse drawn wagon with Carla-Jean Stokes. And of course, the family friendly Summertime Corn Maze is open, it’s simply a-maze-ing. The O’Keefe Ranch is open daily with extended summer hours from 10am - 6pm. Special thanks to Community Foundation of the North Okanagan for their support.
