Join us for the 2022 Historic O’Keefe Ranch Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival and Campfire series from Friday, July 29th to Sunday July 30th.

Kick off the weekend with the Cowboy Dinner Show and Campfire. This popular event is back for one night only and is being featured at the Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival. Tour the ranch and be hosted by a character from the early days of the O’Keefe Ranch. Learn how to rope like a real cowboy then sit down at 6:30 to Cowboy Cuisine and cash bar, and let Rob Dinwoodie and band Open Range with historian, author and cowboy poet Ken Mather weave the tale of the BC Cowboy through song, poetry and story. As in past Cowboy Dinner Shows, this year will include a drama that depicts real characters of the BC west. The cowboy evening closes around the campfire, singing songs under the stars, and hearing stories that will bring the west to life.

The next morning, return to the Ranch for animal education, blacksmith and wheelwright demonstrations, wagon rides, kids cowboy and cowgirl crafts and old fashioned games and “rodeo” activities in the afternoon. Enjoy our roaming cowboy troubadour, Dwayne Marchand, local working cowboy demonstrations, and of course everybody knows a good cowboy needs a cowdog! Watch cowdogs in action at the Greenhow arena in the afternoons.

For Saturday afternoon only take in a poetry workshop and enjoy an open mike session for all the aspiring poets and musicians out there!

Saturday evening is the highlight of the Festival with authentic cowboy poetry and music. Ken Mather, Jocelyn Winterburn, Butch Falk and Gordie West take to the stage for a evening of poetry and song, complete with homemade desserts, and a cash bar service. (And look for special appearances from some of our most beloved Role Play Artists!) The evening will continue with a dance, a floor show, and an opportunity to learn square and line dancing. So put on your cowboy hat and dancing shoes and get ready for a fun filled evening!

Sunday morning will commence with cowboy Church at St. Ann’s Catholic church on site at 11:00. Hear cowboy songs of faith and a down to earth cowboy message as you start the day. All of Saturday's activities will return, so rent a parasol, take in role-play actors, visit with the farm friendly animals, and don’t miss a tour of the mansion.

Take advantage of an all inclusive ticket to attend the Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival which includes Cowboy Dinner Show and Campfire on Friday, July 29th, and Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival Showcase on Saturday, July 30th, as well as day time activities on Saturday and Sunday, July 30th and 31st, from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
